YouTube Worthy(?) Zebra Cakes

I'm pleased to report that I did make it to VA yesterday.

I started my journy at 5am and I ended it at 11pm when I got off the plane. I don't count the hour+ that I spent in the car with my mom and aunt, but technically that was an added leg. Ugh.

Anyway...

Today my mom and I experimented with cake. (Surprise!) I've been wanting to try my hand at making a Zebra cake, and my mom was all too happy to help me out with the dicey batter dropping technique. I'll blog the after pics once we cut the cake, but here is a video for the diehard Amandafans. In this seven minute video, my mother (on the right) and I (on the left) drop strawberry and chocolate batter while we engage in normal - for us - banter. It might actually explain a lot about me.

So my question is this: YouTube worthy?

My family seems to think the answer to this is yes. My dad thinks that if we post it tonight he can expect to see the clip on GMA tomorrow.

Oh, and if you watch the clip to the end, write my last exclamation in your comment and I'll send something special your way. Leave your email address if I don't know it already. ;)

Oh Yeah!

This clip brought me so much joy. I seriously could not stop watching. It was the combination of the hypnotic pattern forming in the pan and the serious but hilarious commentary by you and Mamahair whilst dropping.

I would totally post it on YouTube, why not?

I'm with the Empress. The disembodied hands and voice-over makes for comic gold. My favorite moment: "I do feel like something is different." Oh, yeah!

Um,is the last thing you say "Oh, yeah!"? I feel like my video watching got cut off.

Look what my friend An found for you. Read the whole page, you'll love it:

I'm glad (and a little bit surprised) that you guys liked the video. I thought it was a bit indulgent to post a 7 min. video of myself and my mom, but what else is my blog for, honestly? :)

Kmari03: That cake is gorgeous. Another use for that cake would be a coming out party, duh. I was going to comment on the post, but with over 200 comments, homegirl will neither read or miss my response. Lucky blogger.

PS: I did watch it all the way to the end. And then I watched it in fast forward! It's so cool to see the stripes grow in fast motion!

HTEAC: Virginia, indeed. We should have a VA cupcake blogging... um... something or other. :)

And my mom and I totally watched the video in fast motion too. It reminded me of a spirograph project.
