Thrifty Successes

I went thrifting a couple cities (ha! just work with me here) over to find a purple paisley tie that Evan rejected yesterday.

I found it. And this Marshall tartan.

I also found a couple of t-shirts I can wear to the gym. Here is the best of the two:

Who knows. But I love it.

I also feel extremely blessed to have found the ugliest tshirt in the world.

*Drumroll please*

It's so true.

And before you get too excited, there is a spectacular back too.

I know, I know. I am a very lucky girl.

Now please notice how properly self-reflective the shirt really is.

In all fairness, "Simple" and "Stylish" were the first two words that came to mind when I saw this electric orange beauty which is, according to the inner tag, dry clean recommended.

Wow.

My roommate and I have some ideas about how this extraordinary creature came to be, but I'd like to hear more possibilities. How do you think this shirt happened? What message is it trying to send us? How did it end up in the Brewer Goodwill?

Oh, and before you get all excited, I'm submitting it to English Fail as soon as I publish this post. :)

Update: They posted it. It's now a documented English Fail. See link above.

I love how you came away with all the things I considered but rejected, including the both ties (I almost bought the plaid one) and the Manhunt t-shirt. Unfortunately, I missed the orange beauty. I'm thinking it has its origins in some place of insanity, because, really, who drycleans a t-shirt?!

Evan: That's hilarious. I guess we're living in parallel thrift worlds. It helps that you tipped me off to the location, I guess.

A.: your fashion sense, after all, is different from mine. I absolutely love what you wear, but there's no way I could pull off most of it, including a purple paisley tie. I love going to thrift stores with my brother, because we both leave happy, but with completely different stuff. Personally, I almost always leave thrift stores with at least one tie and at least one blazer. I moved to Maine with maybe three blazers and twice that many ties. I will leave Maine with more than a dozen coats and probably forty ties.

I think that orange shirt is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Esp. the punctuation.
